Everyone who follows this blog knows that I currently live in Armenia. Everyone knows that I blog not only to document my travels and share hundreds of my pictures with you. One of the reasons why I keep blogging is to promote traveling in Armenia and South Caucasus.
I know many bloggers that visited Armenia. I even met some of them during their travels and I follow their sites daily. One day I decided to ask them to help me encourage people to travel to Armenia.
Every Monday from now on, I will be featuring travelers and bloggers that have visited Armenia. Every author will share three reasons to visit the country along with some great pictures taken by him/her while in Armenia.
Today I’m happy to present you Silvia from Heart My Backpack
So, why Armenia?
1. Yerevan is a great outdoors city. The city is full of benches and outdoor cafes, which make it ideal for just hanging out and people watching. The parks were even full of people when I was there in the snowy winter!

2. Armenia has a remarkable history, with beautiful sites and monuments to show for it! Deciding which sites to visit around Armenia was no easy task for me, as there are so many monasteries and churches with huge historic significance set amongst beautiful natural surroundings. Luckily the country is quite small, so it’s possible to visit lots of places just by making day trips from Yerevan.

3. Armenia’s landscape is stunning. Driving through the Armenian countryside was so peaceful, and staying in small towns like Dilijan felt like I had found my own personal oasis. The people were friendly and helpful, and I could relax and unwind after several busy weeks of traveling.
Half Norwegian and half American, Silvia has spent the past several years traveling the world looking for the next place to call home. 60+ countries later, she still isn’t sure where that will be. Maybe Armenia?!
