Lastiver // Let’s go camping

Armenia

I’m not a very camping person. I love nature but not more than the infamous comforts of home. You know, like coffee machine serving me in the morning and a hot shower (Um, to be honest, I have only cold water at my place for almost a week now. Welcome to Armenia…). There is this very spot, though, which makes me a wild, enthusiastic camper. This place is called Lastiver and it is located in the northern part of Armenia, in the Tavush province.

What a wonderful campsite it is, surrounded by forest covered gorge and pittoresque hills. Hills of this region are called lungs of Armenia. I went there last year when I was a AVC volunteer with a group of fellow volunteers and friends. We stayed overnight. I loved how the sound of waterfall woke me up. I loved sitting hours on the bank and watching the water. I loved our hike to the medieval man-made caves in the surroundings. I loved the lazy moments in a hammock. And very long dinners we had. And these talks next to the fire. I’m not a camping person but I’m terribly romantic and that’s why Lastver bought me to tears. As a souvenir I brought some pictures. Here they are.
